Soccer Clinic, Day 3

Another one down!

Things are still going wonderfully. A few on our team are dealing with some allergies, which hasn't been fun for them, but they're taking medicine and being true troopers.

Our daily camps follow a pretty simple pattern:
1. The kids begin with stretching and warming up.
2. They are then divided into 4 groups.
3. Three of the groups go to one of the 3 soccer stations and one group goes to the Bible story station.
4. After 20 minutes at each station, the groups rotate to the next group.
5. For about the last 45 minutes, the kids are divided into teams for scrimmaging.

In between, those of us not participating in the actual soccer part of the clinic do registration, run around setting up water stations, chase runaway soccer balls, and help pass out prizes/t-shirts.

I'm trying to include pictures of all the aforementioned activities :).

Rachael and Kyleigh visiting with a new (English-speaking) friend.

Top-notch ball chasers!

Tuesdae, Amiee and Rachael visiting with some girls who didn't want to play soccer but definitely wanted to practice English.

Katy being sporty! She threw in many a soccer ball for this particular drill.

Craft time! They take their crafts seriously around here and very much enjoyed this one. Thanks Mom and Mrs. Val!

Awesome action shot! This was captured by Rachael who had custody of my camera for a while.

Neat story: We met 3 hearing-impaired boys on the first day of clinics in Levada. It took quite a lot of persuasion for them to decide to join us. They loved it and have continued to return. Some of our Ukrainian friends from church remembered that they have a friend who has been studying sign language to assist with the deaf ministries at another church in town, and they asked him to come help. So, he joined our little friends and interpreted for them around the clinics today.

Disciplinary push-ups for bad language.

This is what happens when you say to Pasha that you have to go do another job and will he please man the water station. That water station was not left in Pasha's charge again, needless to say.

It was a great day! For those of you out there from Whitesburg, we'd appreciate your prayers for the team's health. The allergy-afflicted are feeling quite yucky... Thanks for tuning in!
